The Cultural Innovation International Prize

Deadline: 5 February 2015
Open to: everyone aged 18 or over
Prize: €10,000

Description

The Cultural Innovation International Prize is a biannual competition announced by the “Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona” to stimulate innovation in the field of culture, recognise the importance of research as an integral part of projects and explore the possible cultural scenarios of coming years.

The first call for entries ties in with the 20th anniversary of the CCCB and is being held in partnership with  “Audiences Europe Network”, a working platform that brings together cultural institutions and organisations from different European countries with the aim of fostering reflection on audiences in the sphere of culture. For this call for entries, corresponding to 2014-2015, the theme is “Audience/s”. Entrants for the Prize are required to submit a project that will create, produce and/or feature cultural contents. The format, subject and/or management methods must provide an innovative response to these questions: What do we understand today by audience at cultural centres, museums and similar spaces? What are the real needs of these new audiences? Do centres and museums satisfy them? What innovations could they introduce in order to fulfil their mission?

Eligibility

The Prize is open to everyone aged 18 or over, of any nationality and resident in any country, who can enter individually or collectively in the form of a non-profit organization.

Prize

The author or authors of the winning project will receive a prize of 10.000 Euros. If appropriate, the project can also be developed at the CCCB, which will provide the necessary support.
