Deadline:  22 September 2015
Open to: participants between the ages of 18 and 30 years old
Venue: 11-15 November 2015, The Hague

Description

As we celebrate the adoption of the Amman Youth Declaration written by young peacebuilders from all around the world, we would like to invite you to attend the UNOY Peacebuilders’ annual Young Peacebuilders Forum. The Forum will take place in The Hague 11-15 November 2015 and will bring together 60 young peacebuilders to come together to share their experiences and discuss common challenges.

The Young Peacebuilders Forum theme in 2015 is Ensuring Quality of Youth Peace Work, with a research report into Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning in youth peace organisations from the UNOY Peacebuilders network launched during the forum.

Eligibility

Participants must be aged between 18 and 30 and fluent in English. Both UNOY Peacebuilders members and non-members are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to participants who:

  • have experience in the fields related to peacebuilding and conflict transformation
  • are currently active in a youth peace organisation
  • are committed to multiply the outcomes of the activity in their own work

The selection of participants will be based on applicant’s’ motivation and experience, as well as gender balance and geographical diversity.

Due to funding restrictions the majority of participants will come from Europe. However we encourage non-European peacebuilders to apply as we will have some positions available for non-European participants.

Costs

Accommodation and food are fully covered apart from a participation fee of € 50/person. Travel costs will be covered by 70%. The forum is supported by the Council of Europe and the European Commission.

Application

The form has several pages. The button ‘continue’ at the bottom of the page will bring you to the next. Make sure you fill out the entire form and submit it when finished.

Please keep in mind that the application form has to be filled out per person, and not per organization. UNOY member organisations are encouraged to send two participants each.
