SEARAC’s Leadership and Advocacy Training (LAT) has been moved to June, 2015. Please stay tuned for an updated date. The application deadline is now extended from February 2 to February 9, 2015. Please contact Souvan Lee at souvan@searac.org with any questions or concerns.
The LAT program provides a forum for Southeast Asian American community leaders to participate in activities and workshops that include collective strategizing, networking, advocacy, and relationship building with decision makers on issues that impact the Southeast Asian American community.
The 3-day program trains participants to become advocacy leaders in their communities, and is best suited for community members hoping to learn more about education, health, and immigration policy, effective communication and framing, and creating system-level change. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on their own personal experiences, identify both issues and solutions, and network with other change-makers from across the country.
There is no cost for the training. SEARAC will cover all lodging and the majority of travel expenses for accepted applicants living outside of the Washington, DC area. Participants may be responsible for a portion of their travel costs.
