Working with Taiwan international enterprises, IIMBA is recruiting talented international youths from emerging and developed countries to Taiwan for a short-term study and potential internship opportunities.

Program Sessions
There are three sessions this year:
Session 1 : 2-week program in May-June followed by the internship
Session 2 : 4-week program in July-August followed by the internship
Session 3 : 2-week program in September-October followed by the internship 

*Courses are designed by the companies and the duration may vary
*Internship period, depending on supporting firms, will approximately
last for 
two months.

Program Expense
During the period, the costs of accommodation, tuition and field trips will be covered. Selected participants are responsible for travel expense (including airfares and visa fee), insurance premium and living expense. During the internship period (for students who are offered internships), the participated companies will be responsible for the accommodation and living expense, or alternatively the companies may pay for the airfares for compensation. Depending on the internship or job offer contract, the expenses may vary.
*If the company chooses to pay for the airfares, it will have to be the run trip tickets of the shortest route from student’s most recent location to Taiwan, and the receipt should be presented.

Student Journalism Training Opportunity from AAJA

VOICES Program Trains Student Journalists

Dear Professors, Faculty and Friends,

The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is accepting applications for the 2016 VOICES program, open to current college students, graduate students and recent grads.

The program will take place August 8 – 13 during the week of the 2016 AAJA National Convention in Las Vegas. VOICES is a multimedia journalism training fellowship for college and graduate students, where they will be mentored by professional journalists and be expected to produce and complete news assignments at the 2016 convention. Transportation, convention registration and hotel expenses will be covered for the students selected.

The City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission (City HRC), a neutral city department that mandates inter-group relations and impacts policy, is honored and pleased to announce the 2016-2017 open enrollment period has begun for our very popular, City of Los Angeles Youth Ambassador Cohort program.

The Youth Ambassador Cohort (Y.A.) program is an exciting opportunity for Los Angeles high school student’s 9th-11th grade from all socio-economic backgrounds and sectors of Los Angeles, to build leadership skills and get involved in public policy and civic engagement. The program has (12) workshops that occur on one Saturday per month and requires a one-year commitment. It uses the City of Los Angeles’ government landscape, including City Hall, Council Chambers, City Departments and their resources in a live classroom setting and culminates with an Inaugural experiential five-day trip to Washington D.C., where YA Cohort members tour the White House, meet with White House cabinet members, members of the U.S. Congress and tour the national monuments.

The objective is to equip each Youth Ambassador with a diverse cross-cultural experience and a global perspective and expertise on education, civic-engagement, leadership and volunteerism.

The amount of the scholarship being granted by the VIAA for the summer school in Latvia is EUR 711 per person. The participants of the summer school will have to cover the travel expenses to/from Latvia by themselves.

The GCM Global Youth Summit 2016 are now open!

Description

The  GCM Global Youth Summit 2016 will be bringing 60 Changemakers aged 18 to 23 for a life-changing week of training sessions, networking and workshops. We will invite the strongest candidates to participate at the Summit, assessing their track record of social entrepreneurship, community activism and volunteerism, whilst ensuring gepgraphical and gender representation.

The Global Youth Summit will take place 24-30 July in Switzerland, and we are accepting applications!

Eligibility

We are looking for the most inspiring young social entrepreneurs, community activists and volunteers from across the globe. Participants must be between 18 and 23 years of age on the dates of the summit.

Costs

You will need to pay for your application fee (please make sure to copy the Unique Transaction ID number provided by PayPal and paste it on the online application form), fill in an online application form and make a 2 minute application video (you can read the video instructions here). If you are selected, your flight (from your country’s main airport), board and lodging costs will be covered for the duration of the summit.

Long Term European Voluntary Service Programme in Georgia

Call for the volunteer in hosting EVS project

This is a fantastic opportunity for youth from Erasmus+ Programme countries to contribute to the social change and to carry out a period of full time international voluntary service in Gori, Georgia. EVS period: 2016 September – 2017 June

It is expected to host volunteer, who:
• Is 18-30 years old;
• Excellent written English skills. Because English language will be one of the tools of activity;
• Has the attitudes and values of human rights;
• Has motivation to work with civic engagement campaign.
• Is interested to work in civil society organizations in developing social youth activities;
• Has analytical and organizational skills;
• Motivation to communicate clearly and effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds;

The activities in which volunteer could be involved

The main roles of the volunteer will be directly linked to running activities, raising awareness and mobilising the young people concerning specific topics (mobility, european and active citizenship, interculturality, etc.), and international projects (in particular youth exchanges). The first month of service will be dedicated to discovery, observation of how the organization functions and involvement in the staff’s actions. Then, step by step, the volunteer will be encouraged to offer her/his ideas which will be carefully considered by the staff. If they effectively match with the Kartlosi’s goals and are approved by the team, they will be confirmed. The volunteer will be able to manage a personal project and will be supported in creating it. The volunteer will be supported by the Kartlosi staff in each of her/his tasks. The volunteer will occasionally be able to get involved in other activities. During Kartlosi events, the volunteer can participate with the rest of the staff in their activities. If some specific topics interest the volunteer, she/he can become more involved.

About the placement

Gori is a city in eastern Georgia, which serves as the regional capital of Shida Kartli region and the centre of the homonymous administrative district. The city and the region have been affected by the Tskhinval/i conflict and 2008 August war. Gori population is around 50 000 inhabitants. The distance from the capital to Gori is approximately 80 km. 50 minutes to drive by car, minibus or train.

USA Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is now accepting applications for youth to join their Police & Youth Engagement Project this April in Washington, DC.

The Police & Youth Engagement Project aims to improve relations between youth and law enforcement. Youth selected to participate will attend a two-day workshop in DC, all expenses paid, in order to give feedback to law enforcement leaders. Feedback will inform the curriculum of a national law enforcement training institute.

Imagine Peace Summer Camp 2016, Greece

Description

The British Council along with the International Olympic Truce Centre and under the auspices of the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace, is organizing the Imagine Peace Summer Camp.

The Summer Camp will take place in International Olympic Academy Facilities in Ancient Olympia, Greece, from 24 July until 31 July 2016. Participants need to arrive in Athens on the 24th July and depart from Athens on the 31st July in the evening or 1st of August.

The overall aim of the Imagine Peace Summer Camp is to engage young people in interactive workshops and sport activities that promote the Olympic Values (Respect, Excellence and Friendship) as well as peace, intercultural dialogue and respect in diversity.

Eligibility

In order to be considered eligible to apply, you must fulfill all of the following criteria:

  • between the ages of 17 and 25
  • able to communicate in English
  • available and fully committed to taking part in the Imagine Peace Summer Camp
  • involved in youth or community projects in their own community and be motivated to implement youth initiatives for peace building following the event
  • curious, open-minded and appreciative of diversity.

Costs

The assisted places scheme covers all programme costs within Greece including accommodation, meals and transport between Athens and Ancient Olympia.

Participants are expected to cover their own international travel costs to and from Athens and any related personal expenses.

Application

Fifty participants from more than fifteen countries from around the world with different cultural and political backgrounds will come together for one week from 24 to 31 July 2016 in Ancient Olympia to take part in a series of educational workshops and sports activities that aim to promote equality and peace, and explore the role of sport in the peaceful resolution of conflict.

Participants will be divided into groups of up to seventeen people, which will be balanced in terms of gender and reflect the diversity of participants’ communities. A team of experienced facilitators, volunteers and Olympic champions will facilitate the programme. The deadline for the assisted places is until Tuesday, 01 March 2016, 23:59.
