Other: language students only need to provide relevant registration materials, no need to take the entrance examination; undergraduate students need to participate in school inside the math exam.

Any new degree-seeking student (undergraduates, postgraduates and doctors) studying in The Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) shall attend courses, finish homework and pass exams, which means he need meet the scholarship requirement for new degree-seeking students in the first academic year. From the second academic year, he can continue getting full scholarship if he meets the scholarship requirement for matriculated degree-seeking students.

Introduction 

The Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) was founded in 1956 and established as a key university of the Beijing Municipality. CUEB has six disciplines: economics, management, law, literature, science, and engineering, with an emphasis on the strong points of economics and management. The disciplines are interrelated and collaborated with each other.CUEB is developing into a modern and multi-disciplines economic university.

CUEB has two campuses. The main campus is located in Fengtai District, the Hongmiao Campus is located in Chaoyang District. The two campuses combined comprise a total area of 480,000 square meters and a total construction area of 365,000 square meters. The library has a collection of more than 1.2 million books and over 2,600 periodicals in Chinese and foreign languages.

The university offers 35 bachelor programs The University grants doctoral degrees in Applied Economics with a top-tier discipline supported by a post-doctoral research center. In addition, there are 11 doctoral degree programs with second-tier disciplines, and 30 top-tier discipline masters programs. CUEB has schools of Urban Development, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Labor Economics, Humanities, Information, Safety and Environmental Engineering, Public Finance &Taxation, Law, Finance, Statistics, and Continuing Education; the Department of Foreign Languages, Overseas Chinese College, Department of Physical Education, School of International Education; and Professional Masters Office.

Of over 21,000 students enrolled at CUEB, 10,000 are undergraduates, over 400 are associates degree students, more than 2,000 are graduate students, more than 700 are international students, and more than 7,800 are continuing education students. CUEB has a strong, highly-credentialed faculty and research team. There are 1,625 faculty and staff members, including 712 instructors. CUEB faculty have a great number of provincial, ministry-level and national research projects in Beijing.

The university has cooperative relations with over 50 universities, research institutions, and social organizations abroad. The university pays great attention on the programs to international students. Since 1986, our university has been recruiting international students and offering Chinese language course programs as well as economics-related courses. Currently, 900 international students enrolled in long-term and short-term sessions. Our university constantly strives to improve instructional quality and management to enrich students’ experiences in order to sustain a comprehensive, standardized, yet unique curriculum that caters to the different needs of international students. For example, we offer language courses in economics and business for international undergraduate students. Meanwhile, we provide elective courses in Chinese Calligraphy, Chinese Dance and Chinese Martial Arts. International Economics and trade major, master program (taught in English) and Ph.D.program are all aviablable to the foreign students.

1. Bachelor of International Economics and Trade:

Students applying for this major are required to be foreigners, having at least high school degree and passing the HSK level six. The students in this major would learn the basic theory and knowledge of international economics and receive training in the aspects of international trade, international investment and international economic cooperation so as to process the basic ability of working in the field of foreign economic relations and trade. Through learning, students can master the basic theory and knowledge of the international economic and trade and have basic skills of dealing with international economic and trade issues. Students will be familiar with policies and regulations of China’s foreign economic and trade. Also, students will better understand the trends and developments of world trade with higher foreign language level and strong computer skills.

2、Master of Applied Economics:

Students applying for this major are required to be foreigners, or overseas Chinese, required to have a bachelor degree or above. The courses would be taught in English.

The Main courses for this program include: Intermediate Microeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Quantitative methods in economics,Development Economics, China’s Economic Reforms, China Business Environment, Lectures on Applied Economics, International Finance, International Trade Theory and Policy, Corporate Strategy, Human Recourses Management, Academic Writing,  and Chinese Language and Culture, etc.

2. Applied Economics PHD

This doctoral enrollment targets for foreigners or overseas Chinese. The applicants are required to have a master degree or above. The courses would be taught in English.

Description

The Faculty of science of the University of Geneva is an internationally top-ranked scientific institution covering a broad range of scientific disciplines: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Physics. The Masters of the Faculty of Science constitute an ideal entry for high-level professional and academic careers. Therefore the Faculty of Science, in collaboration with several sponsors, has established an Excellence Fellowship Program to support outstanding and highly motivated candidates who intend to pursue a Master of Science in any of the disciplines covered by the Faculty (Complete list of the Master programs). French proficiency is not a formal requirement for the Masters of the Faculty of science.

Eligibility

Application for an Excellence Fellowship is open to students from any university with very good performance in their studies (belonging to the best 10% of their bachelor’s program) and that have completed the Bachelor degree or expect to complete it within 6 months. Selection of the applicants will be based on excellence. Evaluation will be made on the basis of the documentation sent by the applicants.

Fellowship

The Excellence Fellowship consists of a grant amounting to CHF 10’000 to CHF 15’000/year (no teaching duties); it is awarded for one year and extended for the regular duration of the chosen Master’s programme (three or four semesters) provided the applicant is academically successful at the end of his/her first semester of studies.

How to apply?

The deadline for applications is 15 March 2016. The application (in English or French) consists of:

  • Application Form(60 Kb, );
  • A Curriculum Vitae including the transcript of exams passed during the bachelor education, with grades;
  • A two-page essay in which the applicant describes his/her specific scientific interests, specifies the Master’s program at the Faculty of Science he/her would like to pursue, and motivates the intention to pursue a Master of Science programme at the University of Geneva;
  • If possible: Letters of references from two professors (preferably sent by them directly to the e-mail address indicated below). They should specifically attest if the candidate fulfills the conditions of the Excellence Fellowship Program (see above);
  • Any other pertinent information like results of GRE (General requirement examination), of TOEFL or other language test.

The City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission (City HRC), a neutral city department that mandates inter-group relations and impacts policy, is honored and pleased to announce the 2016-2017 open enrollment period has begun for our very popular, City of Los Angeles Youth Ambassador Cohort program.

The Youth Ambassador Cohort (Y.A.) program is an exciting opportunity for Los Angeles high school student’s 9th-11th grade from all socio-economic backgrounds and sectors of Los Angeles, to build leadership skills and get involved in public policy and civic engagement. The program has (12) workshops that occur on one Saturday per month and requires a one-year commitment. It uses the City of Los Angeles’ government landscape, including City Hall, Council Chambers, City Departments and their resources in a live classroom setting and culminates with an Inaugural experiential five-day trip to Washington D.C., where YA Cohort members tour the White House, meet with White House cabinet members, members of the U.S. Congress and tour the national monuments.

The objective is to equip each Youth Ambassador with a diverse cross-cultural experience and a global perspective and expertise on education, civic-engagement, leadership and volunteerism.

Fully Funded Türkiye Scholarships for International Students

Description

Türkiye Scholarships is an international scholarship program funded by Government of Turkey that aims to improve mutual understanding with other countries and to contribute to the global knowledge with people oriented approach. Applications for Türkiye Scholarships for undergraduate, master and PhD programmes  are now open.

Türkiye Scholarships include both scholarship and university placement at the same time. Applicants will be placed in a university and programme among their preferences specified in the online application form. Most programmes in Turkish universities are instructed in Turkish. However, some departments and universities offer programmes in English or French. The candidates who want to study in these languages need to have an internationally recognized certificate to prove their language proficiency. Also, most of these foreign language programmes may ask international admission test scores such as GRE, GMAT etc. Candidates can check the language of instruction while selecting the programmes.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Undergraduate programs applicants must:

  • be a citizen of a country other than Turkey (anyone holding or ever held Turkish citizenship before cannot apply),
  • not be a registered student in Turkish universities at the level of study they are applying,
  • be have graduated or are likely to graduate from a secondary education institution,
  • be under the age of 21 (no earlier than 01.01.1995),
  • have at least specified (% 90 for medical sciences, % 70 for other undergraduate programs) cumulative grade point average, diploma grade, national exam or international exam score,
  • be in good health.

To be eligible for Postgraduate programs applicants must:

  • be a citizen of a country other than Turkey (anyone holding or ever held Turkish citizenship before cannot apply)
  • not be a registered student in Turkish universities at the level of study they are applying.
  • be a bachelor’s or master’s degree holder by 30th of July 2015 at the latest
  • be under the age of 30 for master’s programmes (no earlier than 01.01.1986)
  • be under the age of 35 for doctorate programmes (no earlier than 01.01.1981)
  • have at least 75 % cumulative grade point average or diploma grade over their maximum graduation grade or have at least 75 % success in any accepted national or international graduate admissions test.
  • be in good health.

Scholarship

The scholarship covers:
  • Monthly stipend (600 TL for undergraduate, 850 TL for master and 1200 TL for PhD )
  • Full tuition fee;
  • Free 1-year Turkish language course;
  • Free accommodation;
  • Round-trip air ticket;
  • Health insurance.

Candidates can apply only one scholarship programme in accordance with their educational background and academic goals and they must apply online after registering HERE.

The  GCM Global Youth Summit 2016 will be bringing 60 Changemakers aged 18 to 23 for a life-changing week of training sessions, networking and workshops. We will invite the strongest candidates to participate at the Summit, assessing their track record of social entrepreneurship, community activism and volunteerism, whilst ensuring gepgraphical and gender representation.

The Global Youth Summit will take place 24-30 July in Switzerland, and we are accepting applications!

Eligibility

We are looking for the most inspiring young social entrepreneurs, community activists and volunteers from across the globe. Participants must be between 18 and 23 years of age on the dates of the summit.

Long Term European Voluntary Service Programme in Georgia

Call for the volunteer in hosting EVS project

This is a fantastic opportunity for youth from Erasmus+ Programme countries to contribute to the social change and to carry out a period of full time international voluntary service in Gori, Georgia. EVS period: 2016 September – 2017 June

It is expected to host volunteer, who:
• Is 18-30 years old;
• Excellent written English skills. Because English language will be one of the tools of activity;
• Has the attitudes and values of human rights;
• Has motivation to work with civic engagement campaign.
• Is interested to work in civil society organizations in developing social youth activities;
• Has analytical and organizational skills;
• Motivation to communicate clearly and effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds;

The activities in which volunteer could be involved

The main roles of the volunteer will be directly linked to running activities, raising awareness and mobilising the young people concerning specific topics (mobility, european and active citizenship, interculturality, etc.), and international projects (in particular youth exchanges). The first month of service will be dedicated to discovery, observation of how the organization functions and involvement in the staff’s actions. Then, step by step, the volunteer will be encouraged to offer her/his ideas which will be carefully considered by the staff. If they effectively match with the Kartlosi’s goals and are approved by the team, they will be confirmed. The volunteer will be able to manage a personal project and will be supported in creating it. The volunteer will be supported by the Kartlosi staff in each of her/his tasks. The volunteer will occasionally be able to get involved in other activities. During Kartlosi events, the volunteer can participate with the rest of the staff in their activities. If some specific topics interest the volunteer, she/he can become more involved.

About the placement

Gori is a city in eastern Georgia, which serves as the regional capital of Shida Kartli region and the centre of the homonymous administrative district. The city and the region have been affected by the Tskhinval/i conflict and 2008 August war. Gori population is around 50 000 inhabitants. The distance from the capital to Gori is approximately 80 km. 50 minutes to drive by car, minibus or train.

The Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) 2016

Description

The Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) is designed for international students who wants to pursue higher education in Korean Universities.

Available Universities: 66 universities or institutions designated by NIIED:

Detailed information about the fields and majors offered by the listed eligible universities can be found in the University Information section on the GKS website.  Applicants must choose their desired fields of study from the listed programs in the University Information section provided by participating universities.

Night schools, Seasonal schools, and schools through Internet are not allowed.

Scholarship

  • Airfare: A round-trip economy class ticket
  • Monthly Allowance: 900,000 won(KRW) per month
  • Research Allowance: 210,000 won for students in human and social sciences; 240,000 won for students in natural and mechanic sciences per semester
  • Relocation (Settlement) Allowance: 200,000 won upon arrival
  • Language Training Fee : The full costs up to 1 year
  • Tuition: All admission fees are waived by the host institution. The full tuition is paid by NIIED.
  • Dissertation Printing Costs: 500,000 ~ 800,000 won for the costs related to a printing dissertation
  • Medical Insurance: 20,000 won per month(limited insurance coverage) will be provided to the university for students.
  • Special fund for students proficient in Korean language (TOPIK level 5 or 6): 100,000 won per month(Commencing from the main program)

Eligibility

  • Both applicant and his/her parents must be citizens of the foreign country.
  • Applicants cannot have Korean citizenship.
  • Applicants should be in good health, both mentally and physically, to stay in Korea for a long period of time.
  • Should be under 40 years of age as of 1 September 2016.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree as of August 31st, 2016.
  • Applicants who are enrolling or have already enrolled in the same academic program in Korea as the one they are applying for will not be admitted.
  • For Master’s program (or Integrated Master’s & Doctoral program): students who hold a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than Bachelor’s degree
  • For Doctoral program: students who hold a Master’s degree or a diploma that is equivalent to or higher than Master’s degree.
  • Applicants who are expecting the adequate diploma should present their diploma by August 31st, 2016 before entry.
  • Should have a grade point average (G.P.A.) at least 2.64 on a 4.0 scale, 2.80 on a 4. 3 scale, 2.91 on a 4.5 scale or grades/marks/score of 80% or higher from the previous attended institution.
  • If the grade is difficult to convert to percentage, official explanatory documents from the attended university are required.

Application

Applicants can apply for the scholarships through the Korean Embassy in their home country or a participating Korean University. See the websites of Korean Embassy (Consulate) in your own country or the  universities in Korea in which you want to study in.

The selection process for applicants will proceed in three steps:

  1. Firstly, applicants must be selected by the institution he or she is applying through (a Korean embassy, or a designated university).
  2. Secondly, applicants who passed the first round must be selected by the NIIED Selection Committee.
  3. Finally, applicants who passed the second round must gain admission from a university.

The application deadline is 8 April 2016.

Imagine Peace Summer Camp 2016, Greece

Venue: 24–31 July 2016 in Ancient Olympia, Greece

Description

The British Council along with the International Olympic Truce Centre and under the auspices of the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace, is organizing the Imagine Peace Summer Camp.

The Summer Camp will take place in International Olympic Academy Facilities in Ancient Olympia, Greece, from 24 July until 31 July 2016. Participants need to arrive in Athens on the 24th July and depart from Athens on the 31st July in the evening or 1st of August.

The overall aim of the Imagine Peace Summer Camp is to engage young people in interactive workshops and sport activities that promote the Olympic Values (Respect, Excellence and Friendship) as well as peace, intercultural dialogue and respect in diversity.

Eligibility

In order to be considered eligible to apply, you must fulfill all of the following criteria:

  • between the ages of 17 and 25
  • able to communicate in English
  • available and fully committed to taking part in the Imagine Peace Summer Camp
  • involved in youth or community projects in their own community and be motivated to implement youth initiatives for peace building following the event
  • curious, open-minded and appreciative of diversity.

Costs

The assisted places scheme covers all programme costs within Greece including accommodation, meals and transport between Athens and Ancient Olympia.

Participants are expected to cover their own international travel costs to and from Athens and any related personal expenses.

Application

Fifty participants from more than fifteen countries from around the world with different cultural and political backgrounds will come together for one week from 24 to 31 July 2016 in Ancient Olympia to take part in a series of educational workshops and sports activities that aim to promote equality and peace, and explore the role of sport in the peaceful resolution of conflict.

Participants will be divided into groups of up to seventeen people, which will be balanced in terms of gender and reflect the diversity of participants’ communities. A team of experienced facilitators, volunteers and Olympic champions will facilitate the programme. The deadline for the assisted places is until Tuesday, 01 March 2016, 23:59.
